PSLE Marking Day

This is a camp that fosters a growth mindset in children through a host of fun educational activities. Children participate in individual and team activities and engage their abilities to lead with empathy, compassion and kindness. In doing that, they employ their cognitive skills and creative thinking skills.

• ORIGAMI - Children will learn interesting origami and nurture visual spatial intelligence, develop fine-motor skills and improve mental concentration.
• PREPARE A MEAL - Children will develop their planning and time management skills and practise math concepts, reading comprehension, teamwork, motor skills, and safety skills as they prepare a meal from scratch.
• PAPER MAKING - Children will learn the history of paper. They will explore creative ways to use materials and tools in the paper making process. They learn to be patient and see the rewards.
• MAKE A CRANK TOY - Children will use found materials to design a crank toy that spins and bobs. They will employ science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the design and construction process. 
• STORYTELLING - Storytelling promotes brain development, imagination, language, and learning. Children will develop the ability to orally share their stories with the camp mates.

• STEM CHALLENGE - Children will design and build solutions to a problem using a combination of science, technology, engineering, and math skills.
• SEWING FOR CHILDREN - Sewing is a useful skill that allows children to enjoy the creative process, develop fine motor skills, improve their concentration, and learn how to work with their hands.
• PREPARE A MEAL - Children will develop their planning and time management skills and practise math concepts, reading comprehension, teamwork, motor skills, and safety skills as they prepare a meal from scratch.
• TUG-OF-WAR - Children will develop their gross motor skills and increase core strength in a friendly match.
• LANGUAGE GAMES - Children will practise language skills through games that encourage them to interact and communicate with each other.

• MATH THROUGH STORIES - Children will develop mathematical understanding and foster positive mindsets through children literature that teaches mathematical concepts.
• ARCHITECTURE STEM - Children will use a variety of skills to design and construct a three-dimensional structure using STEM toys and easily found materials. 
• PREPARE A MEAL - Children will develop their planning and time management skills and practise math concepts, reading comprehension, teamwork, motor skills, and safety skills as they prepare a meal from scratch.
• OBSTACLE COURSE - Using skills gained from the past two days, children will plan and set up an obstacle course.
• NATURE STUDY - Children will develop an appreciation for nature through an activity that builds knowledge and understanding of the world and improve their social and enotional learning.
